Our Mission~To preserve the resources of the community through fire prevention and suppression. ~To effectively educate the public of fire safety and related emergency protection procedures. ~To reduce the adverse effects of injury or sudden illness through quality pre-hospital emergency medical services. ~To provide the necessary services during natural or man-made disasters.
Department ProfileThe Owosso Fire Department is a 18 uniformed member (not including the Bosses) career department providing fire, rescue and EMS coverage within the city limits of Owosso, MI. While most of our coverage area is residential, we also have a good sized retail and industrial area to protect. We provide mutual aid coverage to surrounding areas and we also contract with a few industrial and retail businesses outside our city limits. The Owosso Fire Department has been the home of Owosso Fire Fighters Local 504, I.A.F.F. since March 5,1937. Founded in 1873, the Owosso Fire Department has a long and rich history.
